TechPartyUAB
From 15 to 18 April, the university will host #TechPartyUAB, a meeting point which will include competitions, workshops, debates and talks for video game professionals and amateurs interested in new technologies, social networks and innovation.

The meeting has been organised jointly by the School of Engineering's Student Council and the university's Community Involvement unit, and is addressed to professionals and amateurs of video games and to visitors interested in technologies, social networks and new tendencies in the field. The event tries to cover the need of a growing number of students interested in this sector.

The main attraction for visitors and participants is the video games competition, or LAN party, including the League of Legends, Hearthstone and Counter Strike, which will serve as a framework to exchange information, debate and share experiences.

The competitions will take place at the Study Hall of the Hotel d'Entitats (Plaça Cívica), a place in which there will also be a display of video games created by students of the master's degree in video games and a simulator of video game technology developed by the Computer Vision Centre.

The #TechPartyUAB also includes other activities such as the Smash Bros Spain tournaments and the alternative games organised by the UAB Role Playing Club.

At the same time, attendants will also be able to participate in several training sessions, open to the general public, on video games, online communities and networks, and on technological innovations within the sector. One of the highlights this year will be the conferences on the design and localisation of video games, online literature, a workshop on boosting personal brands; a debate with UAB youtubers and the showing of the documentary film "Mujeres+Videojuegos" by Marina Amores.

All activities, except for the video games competition, are free and open to the public.
